NEW! 75 Minute Speed, Strength & Conditioning Sessions
Get All The Training You Need To Dominate In Your Sport
Imagine you are a young athlete with big dreams of becoming a great player some day. You love your sport and are willing to put in the time and effort to reach your true potential.
You practice your sports skills relentlessly.
You give your best in games and in practices, listening to your coaches as they guide you to play your best.
But as the years go by you struggle to stand out, because despite being a quality player you are not as strong or as fast as many of the best kids in your area.
Far too often, young athletes shortchange the physical development side of becoming an elite athlete, and their dreams fizzle out far too early.
But it is 100% within your power to get stronger, to get faster, and to get in great shape. If you’re willing to put in the time, and if you find the right coaching to get you there.
At Power Source, we are fully committed to giving our kids that edge. To helping you move closer to making your dreams a reality.
Only two things really matter to us when we train our athletes:
Our newly revised Speed, Strength & Conditioning sessions offer a unique workout format that is personalized for all our participants to hammer away at each individual’s most critical athletic development needs.
And we do it with a high level of personal attention, constantly coaching and challenging our kids to get the most out of every exercise..
At Power Source, a Speed, Strength & Conditioning class provides choice in putting your workout together.
All our athletes cover injury prevention training, for obvious reasons.
Then, they have the choice of following a personal strength or a personal speed exercise program depending on where they are most in need of improvement.
Finally, our last 25 minutes covers either speed & agility, or sport-specific conditioning. The choice is up to the athlete and what they feel is best for them that day.
Now, you may be wondering how we can cover all this at once while providing superior results. We do it by using the best training methods available today, in all facets of training.
INITIAL SCREEN & INJURY PREVENTION TRAINING
All the speed and strength training in the world won’t help you to play better if you’re injured.
We use the Functional Movement System, the most recognized system for athletes to lower future injury risk.
The process starts with an initial screen done before starting your training with us (at no charge). Any risk factors we find will be used as the first step in writing your individual workout program.
From there, we’ll reassess your movement skills every 3 months to track progress, look for new risk factors, and to move beyond old ones that have been fixed.
PERSONAL STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT
Need to get stronger?
Or gain some muscle mass for your sport?
Do you need both?
Not every athlete needs to gain muscle mass, but not all strength training will bulk you up.as the popular myth suggests.
Our program meets you where you are – beginner or advanced – and we will create a personal workout program that fits your sport, age, and needs. We’ll even work around minor injury concerns.
Workouts are results driven, as we’ll test basic skills (upper body strength, vertical jump, etc) quarterly to determine if we’re on the right track, or if we need to change course.
As time passes, and your needs/goals change, we’ll constantly work with you to continue moving you down the path you desire with your personalized workout program.
After all, training is a journey with many twists and turns. The average athlete gets stuck when change comes their way, the champions adapt and move forward constantly.
PERSONAL SPEED DEVELOPMENT
Somewhere in your sprint technique, you have inefficiencies that are causing you to play slower than your true potential. In this new part of our training regimen, we have created a thoroughly researched system to help you work your way towards that true potential as quickly as possible.
We use a comprehensive, 27-point video analysis to detect your weakest points, and then turn that into a series of exercises you’ll follow to correct them. From there, every 5th session we’ll re-analyze your stride to determine what is better, and what needs fixing next.
Although this part of training is typically best for older (age 13 – 19+) athletes, we’ve seen it be very effective for any athlete that is willing to pay very close attention to the finer points of their movement skills.
Speed training is all about results, and we are borderline obsessive with creating the greatest results for our athletes. The goal for a Power Source athlete is to be able to drop 0.2 second off their 30 yard dash time in the first month, and then an additional 0.05 – 0.10 second every month thereafter.
GROUP SPEED & AGILITY
Playing fast requires not just great sprint mechanics, but you also must have:
In our final 25 minutes, Power Source athletes have the option of following a structured, results-based speed and agility session.
Our group speed & agility block blends reactive group drills with technical corrections for improvement in a format that is easy to understand, and kind of fun at times, too!
Some sports, like golf, swimming and the like, do not require elite speed and agility
And some athletes may have a greater need of cardiovascular conditioning, especially in the months leading into their main season.
For these reasons, we leave our kids the option of finishing with a structured, progressive conditioning workout if they feel this is the best use of their workout time.
Here, we’ll create a simple but powerful cardio workout that can be tailored to the specific needs of your sport, or follow a general fitness outline.
The key to success in conditioning is to make it gradual, starting with wherever a particular individual is that day. Just like it would be dumb as a coach to make someone lift 500 pounds in their first workout, it’s similarly foolish to drop a wild, high-intensity session on an athlete if their body is not ready to handle that load.
Conditioning is grueling, no doubt. We do not have any shortcuts for you there. But by using cutting-edge training methods, I strongly believe we can help you get in the best shape of your life with the least amount of pain and suffering possible.
I had my eye on a few places before trying Power Source. I was on the lookout for something designed mostly for a program for strength and speed but also not in a traditional way. My goal was to give my boys a competitive edge in the sports that they play. All aspects in the exercises they do help them in strength, speed, flexibility, speed, and injury prevention….things you don’t get at a traditional gym.
We have nothing but the upmost respect for Jim and all his coaches. They have become like a second family to us and my boys love all of them. All of the coaches connect with everyone at every level.
My boys have done a complete 180 over the past year. They look and feel healthier and are always showing off their new muscles to me when they can. Things from not doing a pull up to doing 15-20 to being able to do box jumps almost as tall as they are*. They love all aspects of going to Power Source and I am sure they will be members for a long time.

Love, love, love this training center. My two teenage boys are constantly motivated by Jim and the other trainers. They keep things fun, safe, challenging, and ever changing. Can’t say enough positives about their philosophy, knowledge, and attention to each athlete. Jim runs a top notch facility!!
I have to say that their program has been instrumental in helping to keep my sons grounded and focused. I so appreciate your commitment to safety and injury prevention too. Thank you for everything.”

We were looking for a place with a staff that had experience and credentials to work with kids, and could push my son and daughter out of their comfort zones while still having fun. I also wanted flexibility, since our practice and game times change frequently.
Power Source turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. My kids have a relationship with Jim and his staff that is just fantastic. They put together individual plans for each kid and are updated all the time which my kids love! They never get bored with the same old routine. They wanted to build their strength and speed and they both now have the confidence that through their hard work they will get results.
As we all know kids want to hear it from someone other than their parents. When I pick my kids up after a workout they notoriously give me some fact about nutrition or some advice about bettering themselves that sticks with them. I love that!
Jim has taught my kids that they can achieve their goals if they push themselves to work hard, stay motivated, and make wise choices. This in the long run will produce confident, healthy young adults which I am grateful for. And if we ever have questions we get a response almost always within 24 hours.
My kids now are more confident, look forward to challenges, know what is good for them when it comes to nutrition, and enjoy competing. Thank you Power Source!!

Two years ago we were looking for a program to help our girls with their speed, strength and endurance while playing sports. They are currently ages 11 and 14 and play both field hockey and basketball (school, travel and AAU). It was also our goal to help prevent an injury. We had seen several other kids “go down” with ankle, knee and hip problems, and wanted to avoid this if possible.
Since working out at Power Source the girls’ bodies are much stronger and leaner, plus their speed and endurance have increased tremendously. Their passes and shots are quicker, more powerful, and very accurate. Our youngest daughter went from being a 2nd-3rd string player to being the starting point guard for her AAU team…which won the MA State Championship last season. And our oldest daughter was the only freshman to make the varsity field hockey team at her high school this past fall*.
Plus, Jim and his dedicated staff make each class a lot of fun! The instructors have a great way of pushing & motivating the kids to work to the best of their ability in a kind & friendly manner. When observing a class, one can witness that the kids are truly enjoying themselves in an upbeat, energized environment with other athletes all serving to better themselves. We cannot say enough great things about Power Source and the incredible impact it has had on our children as athletes. We would highly recommend this program!– Shelley Boisseneau (Leominster, MA)
I like the great equipment Power Source has, and how all the drills I do are so helpful to the sports I play. I also really like the coaches. They are so nice, encouraging, and helpful. They really want me to make gains with my workouts.
Life has changed a lot for me since starting at Power Source. They have worked with me one on one to show me the correct form for running and all my other drills, so I am faster, quicker and stronger than before. I have learned a TON about better sprinting technique.
I constantly enjoy working out and seeing improvements. This program has given me so much more self-confidence. Power Source has changed my life for the better, and I am so glad to be part of the team!
